Phi Kappa Phi spotlights 麻豆传媒AV's Chapter and Past President Alex Bolinger through September on national website

POCTELLO – 麻豆传媒AV’s Chapter 110 of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society was recently recognized by the national Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
College of Business Assistant Professor Alex Bolinger will be featured as part of a 鈥淰olunteer Spotlight鈥 on the organization鈥檚 national website, , for the month of September.
Over four years, Bolinger has served the ISU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi and served as Chapter President from 2014-2016. During this time, ISU鈥檚 chapter of Phi Kappa Phi partnered with The Princeton Review and ISU鈥檚 College of Business to provide free GMAT and GRE preparation webinars to students.
鈥淭hose webinars have now reached over a thousand students, both here in Pocatello and online from as far away as Uganda, and helped them prepare for the requirements of applying to MBA and other graduate programs,鈥 Bolinger said.
Phi Kappa Phi is an honors society developed in 1897 and aimed at 鈥渞ecognizing excellence in all academic disciplines.鈥 As part of their mission, the organization 鈥渞ecognizes and promotes academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engages the community of scholars in service to others.鈥
鈥淧hi Kappa Phi is about embodying the ideal of learning as something that is intrinsically valuable in itself,鈥 said Bolinger in his interview with Phi Kappa Phi. 鈥淚n a world that is increasingly market-driven and commercialized, we need organizations like Phi Kappa Phi that remind us that education is not only profitable and useful, but that learning can also be fun and fulfilling.鈥
