ISU Employee Engagement Survey Results
Employee feedback is essential to building a strong and effective workplace. This survey was conducted to better understand how employees experience their work environment and the broader institutional culture. The results help us evaluate key areas, provide insight into what we’re doing well, and where there are opportunities for improvement.
This effort reflects a commitment to listening, learning, and taking informed action. The findings will guide initiatives, support decision-making, and help strengthen the employee experience.
In fall 2025, the employee engagement task force undertook a significant review and update of ISU’s previous employee engagement surveys. This task force consisted of faculty and staff representing the faculty senate, staff council, and all areas of campus. The new version of the survey featured updated questions, created consistent response categories, and added many new questions, including an emphasis on recognition. Leadership questions were enhanced and broken into three levels to more accurately capture employees' experiences. Distribution was targeted directly at full-time faculty and staff. This new survey was launched in October 2025.
What we learned from the survey gave us valuable information about our employees' experiences. We found areas of success and areas where we could improve. A new committee is now developing plans directly tied to these survey results.
Consistent with our commitment to “Investing in People”, this implementation team will look for new initiatives, resources, and our updated plans to roll out in Fall 2026.
