Graduate Events

Throughout the school year, the Graduate School hosts a variety of events, academic and recreational, to provide students with opportunities to network, present their research, and grow as a Grad Bengal. 

Upcoming Events

July Summer Social with the Graduate School

When: Wednesday, July 22, from 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Where: Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV Quad
Join us on the ISU Quad by the Museum Building for free food, swag, and games! This event is open to students, faculty, and alumni. RSVP . 

July Summer Nights with the Graduate School

When: Tuesday, July 30, at 6:00 p.m.
Where: The Waterfront at Snake River Landing in Idaho Falls
Join us at the United Way Concert for food and live music from the McMurphy Brothers at this free and family-friendly event! This event is open to students, faculty, alumni, and community members. 

Meridian Graduate New Student Orientation

When: Tuesday, August 18, at 4:30 p.m.
Where: Tucano's Brazilian Grill - 1388 S Entertainment Ave. Boise, ID 83709
Whether you have been attending since the Spring, just began this Summer, or will be starting in the Fall, we invite you to attend the Graduate New Student Orientation. This orientation is designed to help you feel welcomed into the Bengal Pride and prepared for your graduate school experience. Please RSVP . 

Meridian Late Nights with the Graduate School

When: Tuesday, August 18, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Where: Payette Brewing Company (Beer Garden) - 733 Pioneer Street, Boise, ID 83702
Join us for free food and good company! Current students and faculty welcome.

Online Graduate New Student Orientation

When: Thursday, August 20, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Where: Zoom
This orientation is specially designed for remote students enrolled in our online programs. If you are an online student located near Pocatello or Meridian, you are welcome to attend one of those orientations. However, the workshops and panel discussions in this orientation may be more applicable to your experience as an online student. Please RSVP . 
 

Pocatello Graduate New Student Orientation

When: Saturday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Pond Student Union Building Ballroom

Three Minute Thesis (3MT)

The  is an academic competition held every fall. The competition challenges students to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. 

Research Symposium

Held every spring, the Research Symposium is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines and degree levels to present their in-progress or completed research in an oral or poster format for a chance to win up to $1,000!

 

Late Nights with the GS

A monthly event at rotating locations that allows students, alumni, faculty, and community members to network and learn from each other. 

New Student Orientation (GNSO) 

Graduate New Student Orientation is our welcome event to our newest Grad Bengals. You will have the opportunity to meet fellow grad students, participate in workshops, and learn about how to best succeed in graduate school. 

 

Summer Nights with the GS

Our monthly Late Nights event ... but in the summer! We often collaborate with other summer activities, like Concert on the Quad.
