Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV Frank Church Symposium set Jan. 31-Feb. 1, theme is 'The Best and Worst of Us'

POCATELLO – The International Affairs Council of Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV invites community members of Pocatello and surrounding areas to attend the 2019 Frank Church Symposium on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. This year’s theme “The Best and the Worst of Us: Confronting Injustices in the World” will bring together academics, refugees and activists debating the challenges and successes around environmental justice, refugee rights and minorities rights.

POCATELLO – Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV researcher Phillip Homan received the 2019 Donald J. Sterling, Jr., Fellowship in Pacific Northwest History award. The award includes $2,500 to support four weeks of research at the Oregon Historical Society.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV investigating student-athlete complaint

POCATELLO – Idaho State University is investigating complaints received by a football player outlining unfair and targeted treatment by coaching staff. On Nov. 14, 2018, ISU received a written complaint from a current football player alleging inappropriate communication from a coach, a lack of playing time, an alleged assault by a coach during an away game, and the student-athlete being incorrectly informed about his eligibility status.

POCATELLO – Over the past four years, Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV Clinical Psychology Professor Nicki Aubuchon-Endsley’s Perinatal Psychobiology Laboratory team has talked to more than 100 expectant mothers in Southeast Idaho to help identify risk factors for rural families.

Jan. 26 Fishing Derby at Sportsman’s Park at American Falls Reservoir Features $500 First Prize for Trout, $250 for Perch

POCATELLO – A fishing derby running 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Sportsman’s Park on the west side of American Falls Reservoir near Aberdeen features a $500 first-place prize for the largest trout and a $250 first-place prize for the largest perch.
