About the Farm Fresh Access Program

The Farm Fresh Access Program is proudly housed within the Institute of Rural Health at Â鶹´«Ã½AV, working to address food insecurity among youth and seniors.

We support Idaho communities in Bonner and Bannock Counties by partnering with local farmers markets, including Sandpoint Farmers Market, and Portneuf Valley Farmers Market. Through these partnerships, we have launched a produce program for seniors and youth that will increase access to fresh, locally grown foods. The program provides nutrition vouchers, offers education on how to grow and store seasonal foods, and promote healthy eating habits. We also develop best practices and conduct evaluations to ensure our efforts are effective, sustainable, and impactful for the communities we serve.
