INBRE program at ISU gives taste of biomedical research to budding researchers

POCATELLO –Undergraduate students have been paired with their mentors to begin an intensive summer working full-time as biomedical researchers at Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV as part of the Idea Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) Summer Fellowship program.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV researchers study salmonflies’ benefits, ecology

POCATELLO – Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV researchers, including master’s students Adam Eckersell and McKenna Adams, are studying salmonflies on the Henrys Fork Snake River and Middle Fork Salmon River drainages, exploring everything from these insect’s social impact on humans to their importance for providing pigmentation that can color the feathers of songbirds that feed on them.

ISU Big Beam team to compete in National PCI Big Beam Competition, will hold final beam test on May 25

POCATELLO – Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV Civil and Environmental Engineering students will hold the final destructive testing of their big concrete beam on May 25 at 9:30 a.m. in the Structural Laboratory at the Engineering Research Complex (ERC) on 1030 S. Second Ave. in Pocatello.

ISU research team earns fellowship to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to use statistics to better predict cloud formation

POCATELLO – A team of three international researchers from Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV using math and statistics to help better predict cloud formation and the weather  have been awarded a Computing Sciences Research Pathways Fellowship to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California, this summer.

POCATELLO – Fourteen Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV undergraduate students were awarded an Idea Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)  fellowship for the summer that start on May 23.

POCATELLO - The overuse of opioids is an area of significant concern for a multitude of organizations and agencies across the state of Idaho, the United States, and even the world. Those in the healthcare professions at Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV (ISU) are working to be a part of the solution by conducting research, making changes to their curriculum, and encouraging partnerships with other groups who are working toward the same goal: combating the ever growing opioid epidemic.
